Chai Lifeline has always been on my radar. Whose heartstrings aren't
tugged by seeing pictures of the ill children's faces lit up with joy,
despite their difficult lives?
Life for a child with cancer or any life-threatening/life-altering
condition is fraught with pain, fear, and unimaginable challenges. For
2 weeks every summer, these children are granted the chance to forget
about their illnesses and experience life simply as children and not
patients. It is an opportunity for them to restore their fighting
spirit and renew their determination to defeat illness and suffering.
I will BE"H (g-d willing) participate in Tour de Simcha on Tuesday,
August 4, 2020,
biking 50 miles to Camp Simcha without borders in Deal NJ.
My biking will give other cancer survivors like myself, courage and support.
The ride will not be easy for me, but the sheer delight on the faces
of the campers and staff at the finish line and the knowledge that I
am supporting Chai Lifeline in their extraordinary work, will carry
me through every moment.
My goal is to raise $7,000 in honor of my aunt, Dina Goldberger A"H.
Dina passed away last year, after her own battle with cancer.
